No more lithium-ion battery inside your hold bagage

In a statement issued February 21, 2016, the International Civil Aviation Organization (OACI) announces the temporary ban on lithium-ion in the bunker of planes that carry passengers.

By doing this, the agency  follows the recommendations issued by the Federal Aviation Authority of the United States (FAA) until new standards are put in place in 2018.

The ban will come into force on 1st April 2016. It will not apply to computers, tablets and smartphones carried in cabin. E-cigarettes are concerned by this new recommendation.

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO  affirms this new regulation it is due to a potential battery Lithium Ion  overheating risk that could cause fires.
